HDR Photography

HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography is a technique in photo editing that makes to photo more vibrant with detail and color. It makes your image have more of a character to it and creates more feeling to the viewer of the photo.  Its used to show the detail of the photo and color of a landscape to male the photo exposed in all areas of darkness. Personally I love taking HDR photos, It makes me feel like a real photographer and editor, I like once i find a good landscape, snap my photos and when i'm editing I can make the photo anything I want I can make it look like a painting and I can make it everything in the photo really detailed and bright and clear to see.

You create an HDR photo first by finding a location where there is minimal movement as possible, make sure you have a tripod to make sure your image is the exact same every time you take one of the seven photos you'll be taking at each different exposure, then set your exposure compensation to negative three then move to negative two then to negative one then to zero then one then two then three, after you have completed those steps get to a computer import your photos to the computer, then open photoshop, , go to file > automate > Merge to HDR , now select your seven photos from each exposure and make sure align photos is on then click ok. now you can choose what you want to make your HDR photo what you want.

The thought process that happens before I  take my HDR photos is, well first for my landscape I look at the potential shot I say is it "HDR worthy" , "Will it look good when I edit it" and "how will I position this shot ." Then I take the photos and if they turn out really good i'm done but if not i'll take another set of photos from a different angle and same goes for the experiment photo. When i'm editing I pick and choose the settings that i think look surreal. I really like doing HDR photos and editing them , I will definitely use these way more often now that I know how.

  18. I love the way the landscape is surreal!
You could've put the focal point (camera lens) more in the rule of thirds.
I like the way you made the focal point the camera lens, not the eyes (creative)!!!! :p
